At Bracegirdle’s, they know exactly how to handle cacao and coffee beans.
You may know Bracegirdle’s for their heavenly hot chocolates, decadent desserts, cracking good coffee and handmade chocolates, but what you may not know is that they’re Australia’s most awarded chocolate company. With five venues across Adelaide which are now on EatClub, you’ll be upping your chocolate intake in no time! We’re in full support of this: officially deeming it socially acceptable to dribble chocolate down your chin at any of their venues. After opening in 2005 by Sue and Garry Bracegirdle, they’ve kept the entire process of chocolate-making in-house, with impressive results. Back then, it was Adelaide’s first and only dessert bar. Enjoy their range of preservative-free chocolates, desserts and coffee at the Marion, Glenelg and Cross Road venues and an added selection of savoury dishes at the McLaren Vale and Blackwood cafes. Each of the venues offer a cosy, elegant space with a family-run feel. Stop in for all things sweet: waffles, fondue, sundaes, banana splits, affogatos, knickerbocker glories and more.Stay a little longer and enjoy lunch and a wine at Bracegirdle’s in McLaren Vale. During summer, the courtyard is a hit! Warming up in their quaint cottage with a hot chocolate is always an excellent idea during winter.
The Blackwood establishment features a seasonal menu offering locally sourced produce prepared by head chef Ryan Philcox. He’s created a Shepherd’s Pie made with chocolate stout-braised lamb topped with mash potato and served with a minted pea & rocket salad. There’s also a Cocoa Pollo Club Sandwich made up of cacao-fried chicken, bacon, avocado pesto, tomato, garden greens and aioli.
Bracegirdle’s in McLaren Vale and Blackwood also throw a decadent high tea with sparkling wine, sandwiches made of things like salmon and cream cheese, fluffy scones, quiches, cakes and of course, chocolate.
