Day of the Dead (November 2nd) is soon upon us. This multi-day holiday is far from a Mexican version of Halloween. Instead, the festivities involve explosions of colour, feasts and life-loving joy. Celebrated throughout Mexico and by people of Mexican heritage elsewhere, this holiday brings together family and friends to honour their nearest and dearest departed to help support their spiritual journeys.

                                   

     Since it must work up a mighty hunger travelling from the spiritual realm back to our physical reality, feasting is a huge part of this festival, as well as dancing, art, offerings and sugar skulls.
