Pizza, glorious pizza. Whether you like it thick, thin, cheesy, meaty, full of toppings, or even a classic margherita, in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs you’ll no doubt find your dream pizza. We’ve compiled a list of our favourite pizza places in the area. Tuck into a saucy slice after a day at the beach in any of these family-friendly venues, or grab a takeaway to enjoy by the sea at sunset.
Shop 6/22 Crystal Street, Waterloo
A summary of internal thoughts when eating pizza from Angelino’s Pizzeria: ‘goddamn’. With hazelnut mousse and tiramisu on the menu, you’ll want to arrive hungry to this pizza place! You’ll appreciate the red–checkered tablecloths, and you can get spaghetti and meatballs (just like Lady and the Tramp).
Cloey Beach Pizza
Shop 1/350 Clovelly Road, Clovelly
We love this place and that may have everything to do with their spicy pepperoni pizza. There’s something about a slightly crunchy, slightly chewy crust, a tangy sauce, fresh herbs and spicy meat.
Level 6/500 Oxford Street, Bondi Junction
Pizza and tapas in one place? Bondi Pizza are known for their fun, vibrant venues and delish pizza. Catch up with friends in their Bondi Junction joint over a cocktail jug, arancini and pizza.
Doughboy Randwick & Bondi
77 Frenchmans Road, Randwick & 181 Bondi Road, Bondi
Bondi locals brought Doughboy to life! They pump out pizzas on thin, crispy bases made from wholegrain spelt. Everything is organic and free-range and there is the option to have a pizza made on a (really good) gluten-free base.
Society Pizza e Pesce
88/90 Curlewis Street, Bondi
Sicilian pizza and an extensive seafood menu… this pizza place is a serious hit among locals. Get the octopus carpaccio before moving onto pizzas.
