Short Black Cafe makes for a successful outing with your little people.
EatClub loves a lot of factors of this Camberwell spot. It’s both an Italian restaurant and a kid-friendly cafe, meaning that there are plenty of culinary options for little ones and the staff don’t roll their eyes over spilt babycino milk.
The Paesano Group, owned by Frank Capuzzi and Angelo LoMonaco, have created a welcoming, wholesome space to dish out exceptional coffee, hearty breakfasts and neighbourhood restaurant favourites to spend time with loved ones in the evening. The large menu caters to all: the kids section has Kids Bacon and Eggs, Mini Parma, Penne Bolognese and Kids Pizza, while adults can opt for breakfast classics such as Eggs Benedict, the Three-Cheese Omelette, Bircher or a Veggie Stack. On your first visit to Short Black Cafe, get into the Banana Bread Stack, which features seasonal fruits, berry compote, maple, pistachio, flax seeds, Nutella and mascapone cheese. It’s absolutely nuts.In the evenings you can order pasta, hearty mains and wood-fired pizzas – all of which are beautifully presented. The Pear and Pancetta is a standout pizza, as is the Diavolo and their Margherita. But if you can’t decide, order the Tapas Pizza which is a selection of three mini pizzas of your choice. Drinks-wise you can choose from an exciting mix of Australian and Italian wines, bottled beers and ciders and two classic cocktails: perk up with an Espresso Martini or brighten up with an Aperol Spritz.
