Frequently asked questions
EatClub Pay is the most seamless way to pay your bill at EatClub venues where you have redeemed an exclusive offer.
After you have set it up, an EatClub digital card will sit within your Apple or Google wallet. This will enable you to tap and pay your bill at any EatClub venue via a restaurant’s Eftpos machine with the exclusive offer automatically deducted from your total bill.
The venue will not have anything extra to do aside from giving you the best service experience possible, better yet, they won’t even know that you are using an EatClub offer to dine in.
We’ve all experienced sitting down at a busy venue during their peak rush hour period and have seen first hand how hectic things can get. Managing everything from customers, staff, tablets and everything in between is a difficult task especially with constantly changing staff on the roster who may not know how EatClub works.
Our traditional vouchers required members to present their EatClub voucher on arrival then when paying, staff would manually deduct the offer amount from the final bill. Over the past 3 and half years of running our dine in offers, we’ve collected a lot of customer feedback. We know sometimes deals were forgotten by staff, drinks weren’t included and members felt awkward asking for their offers to be applied, giving some users at times an unpleasant dining experience when using the app.
EatClub Pay directly solves these issues and played a massive role in why we introduced the change. By applying offers automatically when tapped on the eftpos machine to pay, it means our members never have to feel awkward again by announcing they’re from EatClub whilst at the same time, ensuring offers are ALWAYS honoured for the entire bill. It’s allowed us to reduce a number of tasks our partners previously had to manage, making it easier for them to train staff and deliver top notch service to all their guests no matter what and improve the user experience across the board for all our members and partners who use the app.
The new process is so discreet that you don’t need to let the restaurant know you’re dining-in on a deal, all you’ll need to do on arrival is take a seat at the next available table.
Restaurants use EatClub to fill their tables during their quiet times of the day. We’ll let the venue know your estimated arrival time although this doesn’t mean a table will be reserved for you.
We have some simple yet essential dining rules to follow to ensure your offer doesn’t become invalid.
1. Walk-in’s only

The EatClub Card is a digital, prepaid Mastercard that sits in your Apple or Google Wallet. The card is loaded by EatClub and allows you to pay your bill in full after your redeemed offer has been automatically applied. This means you’ll never have to discuss your offer with staff and ensures the offer you redeemed is always honoured.
As it’s a prepaid card, this has no impact on your credit score and no additional personal details are required for its creation.
Using the card is simple, all you need to do is,
  1. Redeem an exclusive dine-in offer on the EatClub app
  2. Enjoy your meal
  3. Ask for the bill in full and tap your EatClub card on the eftpos machine to make your payment with your offer automatically applied.
Once you tap to pay using your EatClub card, the venue will receive the total bill amount, your linked card will be charged the total bill amount less your redeemed offer and we’ll cover the rest. Once paid, you can find all the transaction details associated with your dine-in experience on the offer confirmation screen by clicking “view bill”.
We want to avoid any errors when applying the deal and take any other aspect of human error out of the equation. In order to achieve this, we made the decision to migrate all of our partnered restaurants to EatClub Pay. Running both systems at the same time would operationally not be possible without running into mistakes. To avoid these, EatClub Pay is the only way to redeem a dine-in offer on the app moving forward.

EatClub can be used on any NFC compatible device. After you’ve completed the one time setup process, go to your payment details and follow the prompts under “Devices connected” to add EatClub Pay to your alternative devices. Once you’ve completed this step, check your digital wallet on the associated device and you should find your EatClub Pay card ready to use.
There is a known issue with Google Wallet which causes the wrong card to be charged when tapping with your EatClub card. We’re currently working with Google to get this issue fixed as soon as possible, although if you do experience this issue or store multiple cards in your Google Wallet, we recommend setting your EatClub Pay card as default and double checking your EatClub receipt to confirm you’ve paid the correct amount.
Contactless payments can be interrupted for various reasons like magnetic phone cases and/or other physical cards which are kept in wallet phone cases. If you experience any error messages after tapping your card, please double check there are no magnets or other physical cards near the terminal before trying to make your payment again.
